County Legislature Continues to Collect Goods Needed for Haitian Relief Effort

New City, NY (January 26, 2010) – The Rockland County Legislature will continue to accept items that residents wish to donate to the local Haitian relief campaign. Vice Chairman of the Rockland County Legislator William Darden and Legislators Ilan Schoenberger, Phil Soskin and Alden H. Wolfe established the drop-off site at the office of the County Legislature in collaboration with the Ramapo Haitian Task Force.
“The generosity of the community is overwhelming,” said Vice Chairman Darden, “Many are putting aside their own worries to come to the aid of Haiti. Here in Rockland, we have much to be grateful for and the spirit and strength of character of our residents is number one on the list.”
Items such as non-perishable food items and bottled water, clothing, and medical items (see list attached) can be brought to the Rockland County Legislature, 11 New Hempstead Rd., New City between the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All relief items collected will be transferred to the Ramapo Haitian Task Force for processing.
