- 1-25-2010
- Categorized in: Ramapo News
Opponents of the Patrick Farms Development are mobilizing electronically to gather support to encourage the Town of Ramapo Board to vote against the proposed Patrick Farms Development.
The Stony Point Action Committee for the Environment has sent a letter to the Town of Ramapo Board, opposing the Patrick Farms Development. The letter (see attachment) outlines the groups' opposition citing land use issues including increased density along with water supply issues. This letter has been circulated via email. Ramapo Times has already received this letter from more than two dozen people.
A Facebook Fan page "Save Patrick Farms" has been set up to provide information on this issue and to allow residents to voice their opinions. So far 190 people have become 'Fans' of this page.
An online petion is circulating on onlinepetition.com that has already been signed by more than 1,800 people.
"In this day and age, it is becoming easier for people to organize, mobilize and be heard" said an organizer who did not want to be identified, "The pols need to sit up and take notice that they work for us and we have more votes than the developers do."
Organizers expect the Ramapo Town Board meeting on January 25th to be standing room only.
