Suffern residents William Schoenleber and Jo Meegan-Corrigan will run on the Democratic line this year for the Suffern Village Board. Schoenleber, who was born in the village, and Corrigan, who’s been a resident for nearly 15 years, are launching their campaign with a fundraiser at The Shamrock Hotel in Suffern on Tuesday, March 23rd, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. County Legislature Passes Local Law to Provide Relief to Distressed Homeowners

New City, NY (November 6, 2009) – The Rockland County Legislature passed a local law at the November 5, 2009 meeting that would increase the redemption period for tax delinquent residential properties. The local law, introduced by Legislator Alden H. Wolfe, Deputy Majority Leader would extend the redemption period from two years to three years to afford homeowners a longer period of time in which to bring delinquent tax payments up to date before their homes would be foreclosed on by the County. Measure Would Permit Volunteer Work by Inmates
Rockland County Legislator Alden H. Wolfe is encouraging all registered voters to cast a vote on a proposed amendment to the New York State Constitution, which will appear on the ballot this coming Election Day. The proposal, appearing on the ballot as Proposition #2, would permit the State Legislature to amend the Corrections Law to allow inmates to perform work for religious, charitable and educational groups.
