New team name wins in a landslide.
RAMAPO, New York (September 2, 2010) – During the past several weeks, baseball fans from across the Lower Hudson Valley and northern New Jersey have been debating among family and friends while voting for their favorite name for the new Rockland Baseball team, an independent minor league baseball team scheduled to start play in June 2011. Over the course of the last 5 weeks, nearly 6,000 fans voted for their favorite team name and the final results are in.

The road to the USClub National championship, for the Quickstrike FC 96 girls began in late May 2010 with a gusty 2-1 victory against the Massachusetts Premier Soccer Renegades to capture the USClub Regional championship. Winning the Region gave the team a bid to play for the National title this past week at Hampton Roads Sports Complex in Virginia Beach, Va.

The Suffern Police Department’s D.A.R.E. Hockey program is back for the fall season. Games begin on Saturday September 11th and continue through to the Championship games for each of the two divisions on November 7th.

RAMAPO, New York (August 23, 2010) –During the past several weeks, thousands of baseball fans from across the Lower Hudson Valley and northern New Jersey have been debating among friends and family and voting for their favorite name for the new Rockland Baseball team, an independent minor league baseball team scheduled to start play in June 2011. After four weeks of voting, the fans have narrowed their favorites down to the Boulders and Palisaders.

Fans have until this Sunday, July 25th to submit as many names as they like.
