On 3/12/13 at approximately 10:00pm, Ramapo police responded to the Monsey Park home for adults, located at 15 Monsey Blvd., Monsey, N.Y., for a possible fire. Responding officers reported a heavy smoke condition and advised that the facility was evacuating all residents.
Monsey Fire Department responded to the scene with Chief LaGarde in charge. Spring Valley Fire Department responded as well. A small fire was located on the lower level of the building, near a clothes dryer vent, and it was quickly extinguished. The fire did not spread and it does not appear to be suspicious.
Fire Inspector Tom Buckley responded to the scene and deemed the building safe for occupancy.
All residents who had been temporarily evacuated from the building and were able to reenter without incident.
There were no injuries reported.
