The plot thickens even as the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Evidence Response Team worked late into the evening gathering documents and computer hardware as part of their financial corruption probe. The Feds are being very tight-lipped about the focus of the investigation however a number of fairly reliable sources have approach Ramapo Times and The Rockland Star with information.
For more than a year rumors have been circulating about a high-ranking Town of Ramapo official talking to the feds about apparent corrupt practices taking place in Ramapo Town Hall. Numerous sources told Ramapo Times and the Rockland Star that the individual in question apparently didn’t keep very quiet about (their) conversations with the FBI.
“(They) have been boasting about this loudly for quite some time” confided one source, “As welcome as this investigation is, this is a politically motivated issue.”
“Unstable and frightening (individual)” claimed another, “I know of many people who have carefully distanced themselves from (said individual). I think there is a self serving aspect to all of this and it would be a bigger disater for this town.”
While the investigation is apparently focused on town finances, including a bond offering and the building of the baseball stadium, one source intimated that there is a component of the probe that focuses on access and influence.
“You’ve got drug and alcohol abuse, adultery, groping, vindictiveness, erratic and dangerous behavior involved in this case” said one source, “It’s been a long time coming but if (person’s name) is the rat, I hope the Feds know what they’ve got. This (person) can be discredited easily and I don’t want it all to fall apart because they hitched their cart to the wrong horse.”
Without first-hand information, Ramapo Times and The Rockland Star are withholding the name of the individual in question. We are however starting to investigate the background including some of the allegations being made about this individual.
