On Saturday, January 26, 2013 at approximately 10:25 AM a 47 year old female victim had her purse taken from her while she was in the parking lot of Stop& Shop in Nanuet.
The victim exited Stop & Shop and walked to her vehicle which was parked in the south parking lot. The suspect’s vehicle was parked adjacent to the victim’s vehicle. The suspect was standing outside of his vehicle and as the victim approached, he grabbed the victim’s purse which she was carrying on her shoulder. The suspect left the scene in his vehicle which was described as a newer model Ford, 4 door hatchback, dark gray in color with NY license plates. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 20 years of age, 5’8”-5’10”, with an average build.
The victim did not sustain any injuries. The incident was captured on store surveillance video as is being investigated by the Clarkstown Police Detective Bureau. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 845-639-5800 or the TIPS line at 877-639-6233.
